There are lots of good, moral, enlightened, church-going, religious people who haven't the foggiest clue what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! His forgiveness & powerful saving grace on the cross permanently and dramatically changes those who experience it. Maybe there's no power because for many there was never any faith? Maybe you should challenge the assumption that the people you describe are Christians in the first place.
