I once went into an Evangelical Bookstore here in Tulsa. I saw 13 pictures of Pres. Bush. 5 each of angels and Saddam Hussein, and 3 of Jesus. At least He made it in there somewhere. I am surprised, however, by you take on our last pope. While I greatly respect our new pope, his stance and theology signal (IMHO) a significant move in the wrong direction in many ways. We do need a saviour...constantly and often in ways we dont understand or expect. I like the Catholics emphasis on Jesus. I find that many homes of protestant Christians may not have the icons of the pope etc but are worse in a more subtle way....they have not only repalced Jesus with a consumer lifestyle they claim he condones it!
