Psalms 27:13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
There are so many chances in the course of the day to lose heart. I feel them constantly, I’m sure you do too. It’s when we give in to them - to the routines that wash us grey with the day then we begin to forget who we are and what we know to be true.
So stand up, shake off the day, and do not be passively washed over in mediocrity. Remember who you are and what you believe to be true.
We left for Leavenworth, WA on Friday afternoon with 19 students. Most of the kids on this trip were pre-Christians (I favor that term to “non-believer”) and they came on the trip to simply have fun. Well they had fun, but they also experienced something much more. Something much deeper.
We’d have devotionals in the morning and messages followed with small groups in the evenings. The Lord really showed up in these times. Our leaders entered into deep conversations with the students. And at the end of the weekend, 5 students made new decisions to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior with many more recommitting their lives to Him.
It isn’t easy for students to go back home after these trips. They’ve made commitments for Christ, but now is the time integrate these commitments into their everyday lives. Change is never easy. Pray for them to continue to hold fast to the decisions they made.
Evidently, I’m not the only one sick in our house. The flu has been passed around and now Samuel (1.5yrs) has pneumonia! Arg, pray for our family to recover from all of this!
And on a lighter note, here’s what would make Samuel stop fussing over the weeekend. Works like magic and should do the trick for anyone’s Monday!
Um… well, you can’t say they’re not firm on their beliefs. It’s like I’m watching V for Vendetta and it makes me want to go watch Borat to cleanse myself.
Has America done great things? Yes, but let’s not be too quick to pat ourselves on teh back.
I don’t really agree with much of this, but it should be an amazing conversation starter…
