dear sweet eight inch baby jesus
Stuart,
I have no idea what to say. I actually like JC. I agree we should be following Him and falling down before Him. But we are to be continually filled with Him daily. So maybe JC has a point.
You’re right, but my point (probally lost in the rant) is the song just seems to trivialize the Lord.
I thought I was the only person on this earth that is annoyed by Jeremy Camp! I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but he’s always rubbed me the wrong way. Are you my twin?
lol
Well Jeremy has gone through a whole lot more than I can imagine. His first wife died when he was in his early 20’s. I’m sure God is molding him into something for God.
I’m not denying him as a good man. I get carried away in my rants at times. I just get tired of overly bubbly nonrealistic christian music.
I wonder if someone at Bob Jones would get kicked out for listening to Jeremy Camp?
ha ha! that’s right!
Just a minor correction: Jeremy Camp may have frosted tips, but he doesn’t look like a woman (maybe he does in photos from the neck up?). Anyway, this man is HUGE (in the “let me kick sand in your face” California beach bum sort of way). I saw him in concert several years ago and it was funny how big he seemed up there on the stage. Big arms, big neck, big height. lol … Usually people look teeny on stage, but the biggest (lol) memory I took from the Jeremy Camp concert was the size of his shoulders and arms.
I don’t think I’ve heard the particular song you’re talking about … but it seems to me that the Christian music radio stations pick the cheesiest and stupidest songs for their “pop” airplay. You’re in the Seattle area, right? Me, too. Our big “Spirit” radio station drives me nuts. If I hear one more song about “oh, I broke up with my girlfriend and life just sucks” that’s supposedly lifting up the name of Christ, I think I’ll puke.
The other main memory I took away from Jeremy Camp’s concert was, “Wow, this guy is the real deal. He truly loves Jesus. He’s not just up there hoping to get a bunch of people throwing Captain Crunch cereal at him or have the crowd do some stupid little Christian ‘dance’ or ‘hand motions’ to his songs.”
My one complaint about Jeremy Camp is that all his music sounds the same to me.

Oh how I miss your morning rants…give me more of THAT! We share the same disdain for Jeremy Camp, although mine also spreads to Nichole C. Mullin, Hillsong, etc. Or maybe it’s just that I don’t like Christian radio. If I hear “Walk By Faith” one more time, I’m going to crack.
Oh and your voice got really high there at the end, like someone kicked you in the junk.
This is my first visit here. That rant was hilarious.
I wish I could start my own Christian radio station. I would allow no sappy crap, and also, the musicians would actually have to have talent, meaning, more talent than looking and sounding like someone being played on a secular “lite rock” station, only invoking standard “Christian” lyrics every so often.
Also, no screaming music. I don’t know what it’s really called; I just know that I’m too old for it.
Glad to have you here Marcia! You’re so right. I’ll tune into your station in the mornings to prevent further rants!
Hi, i totally agree with debi;
Great post!
Saw him in concert, huge guy, lifts weights, been thru a lot of carp, loves His Lord, i have all his CD’s, most songs sound the same. Spirit 105.3 sucks, but its better than the alternative stuff on the radio for my son to listen to.
I get more upset by the commericals that shouldn’t be promoting worldy carp like cosmetic surgery!!!!!!
The lady singing with him is his wife. Good singer, 2 beautiful baby girls.
Arlington needs christians and mininstry, you could look up my cousin, she needs a gentle tug back into the fold

[...] Jesus. Bravo to those of you who spent your hard earned cash to buy a WWJD bracelet or anything by Jeremy Camp. Let me applaud you for running the baseball diamond with Rick Warren or giving Kirk Cameron more [...]
