Worst Names?
Posted by: stuartdelony in Blogroll, baby names, bad names, family, general, names, pregnancy, youtubeI know a bunch of couples who are currently pregnant and the topic of baby name is always one that comes up. We’ve always known the names of our children, way in advance, but always tell people that we don’t name our children till their birthed. That way there’s no nay saying till it’s on the birth certificate - and near permanent.
So if you want to know our pending baby’s name… “We really don’t know it yet, you can’t name a baby properly till you actually see it. It’s a cosmic experience between you and the Lord - first laying eyes on the child - then you truly know it’s name.” Ha ha, I’ll never tell!
Names are such an important thing. Here’s a really bad name.
I also have run into a guy with the name Richard Head. Yes, that was his given name.
So on the topic of baby names - what are some of the worst names you’ve heard?

My father-in-law is a circuit court judge, and he used to do child custody cases all the time. One time a divorced couple was fighting over custody of their child, a little girl who’s name was pronounced “Fee-mall-ee.” It was spelled…F-E-M-A-L-E!
I went to high school with a Bob Evans. Every time he was called to the office, you could hear kids all over school sing — “Down on the farm” — the little jingle for the Bob Evans restaurant commercial.
I also went to school with a boy named Glen Campbell. He was a “the third,” so he was not named after the famous country singer. But I still liked to sing “Rhinestone Cowboy” to this poor kid. He joked about it too.
And there were a couple kids in my school named Lightning Rod and Thunder Bolt. For real. Those were their actual names. I think I’d just go by Rod and Bolt or something, but these kids went by the full name. Lightning Rod. Thunder Bolt. And I think the office staff dreamed up reasons to call these kids to the office over the loudspeaker just because it was too funny.
I KNEW IT! The gig is up! It only took 5 years before you admitted knowing the kids names in advance. Shame on you. The cause must be crazy in-laws and parents because an Aunt sure wouldn’t give you a hard time about the names you have picked.
