“Stuart, it seems like a long time ago doesn’t it? I’m thinking of that day climbing that mountain to get to the top and thinking how difficult it was, but I was going to make it up there. ”
-my friend and brother in Christ and life
A friend emailed me recently a reminder. A reminder of the journey we had been on together. He called me to remember back to who I was years ago. To remember where the Lord has brought me from. To remember the work he is doing in me right now.
Often times, life gets busy and I forget. I forget who I am and who the Lord has called me to be. I forget what is important and what is true. And if I’ve lost that, what am I left with?
So take some time to remember. What does the Lord not want you to forget?

This post was great. When I first read it last night my wife and I had just finished a 3 hour long argument. A lot of it originated out of forgetting how much we are blessed.
Remembering is a form of worship. Recounting God’s faithfulness in our lives. Yes, I remember stories from pictures of our kids growing up, pictures of Jo and I in our early years of love and marriage, amazing things that God did in my life and ministry inspite of my weakness. Now the challenge for me is to remember, write out the stories and then put them into an organized volume for others to enjoy. Yes, remembering is a good way to count our blessings and worship God and what He has done in our lives. Thanks for the prompting Stuart.
The Lord wants me to remember also that i have friends to remind me of how far i have come and tht i myself can be a reminder and encouragement to someone else, letting them remember how far they have come and how much Jesus loves them.
thanks, Stuart!
This remembering is such a biblical concept. Isn’t that what God encouraged the Jewish people to do throughout the whole Old Testament? And then Stephen’s famous sermon in Acts was a recounting and remembering.
Good reminder!
