I’m so not ready for this! Yesterday, I was driving Aida home and she informed that a boy asked her to marry him. Now, Aida is only 3 years old, but still!

I knew it was trouble when last week in AWANA she lost at musical chairs and this little beau offered her his seat to stay in the game. Then comes this week…. (as she tells it) he walks over to her during juice and crackers and asks her, “are you married?” She replied “No”. Then he said, “we should be married.” Aida luckily didn’t respond.

Next week, I’ll make sure to ask him his intentions with my daughter while I clean my shotgun and sharpen my knife. She may only be three, but as a father… I’m not ready for this!

Yesterday, the kids (James and Aida) had “Superhero Night” for AWANA at our church. James immediately knew that he’d be Superman because he love Superman and we have some old Super pajamas. After this, Aida announces that she’s Wonder Woman and that we need to find a costume for her. So we rummage through all of our stuff looking for things to go. We found a crown (princess tiara), a golden belt (no idea where this came from) and the lasso of truth (or a rope from the garage).

We dress her up, along with her mother’s Wonder Woman t-shirt, and are ready to go. But Aida halts, and announces that something’s missing! I ask her, ”what else?” And she responds, ”I need boobs! Wonder Woman has boobs!”  We laughed for a while and then shuffled her off to Awana (sans the boobs).

Ahh, this from the mouth of a three year old!
