We spend our New Years Eve with our kids, fireworks and David Hasselhoff. That’s right, we had a Knight Rider marathon.  Every New Years Eve we delve into some old cheesy TV show (last year: Wonder Woman), eat snacks and light off illegal Indian fireworks till the ball drops at midnight. We’re all about traditions around her as long as they involve  explosions, eating snacks and 80’s TV (well, late 70’s if you count Wonder Woman).

Here is a picture from Joe Martino’s house church in Michigan (or better known as the church of Joe – it’s like Graceland with less shag carpet). I’m in this picture. First person to correctly identify where I am in the picture gets a prize mailed to them.

UPDATE: Calvin won the top prize! Second place went to Erica Martino which means you win and the Indians are in fact better than then Yankees (I used http://www.random.org/ to randomly pick a winner from the other correct guesses!)

School was out Monday, so we took a group of kids to Seattle. It’s amazing the amount of fun you can have by investing a day with kids doing absolutely nothing. No program. No agenda. Just a van full of kids and a couple of hours. It’s that simple.

There’s all this talk about the possibility of Peter Jackson returning to helm the movie version of The Hobbit. So I did a search over google to find out more and stumbled upon this: The Hobbit Name Generator. You plug in your name and they give you your hobbit name. It’s senseless fun, but that’s just what we need on Wednesdays.
