We were talking with James, my six year old, about the controversy they’ve had in the Washington State legislative building over the display of the nativity and the subsequent sign placed next to it by the Freedom From Religion [atheist] Foundation.

As James read the above sign from the FfRF he said something so articulate and true, it blows my mind that he’s only six.

“If there’s no reason for us to be here, and nothing happens when we die, what do we live for?”

We were eating dinner yesterday  and it was snowing. James turns to me and says, “We should put on our bathing suits and go and roll in the snow.” The other kids laughed because it sounded absurd. Then I replied, “sure.” There was a moment of silence at the table as the kids eyeballed each other. The Aida asked me, “Are you serious!?!”

Needless to say, my kids rock!

Oh, this is amusing on many levels.
