It’s Christmas Eve and we let the kids open a present early. They received new sweet sleeping bags from their Grandparents, so tonight they’re all camping out together indoors.

We had a YD BBQ for the end of the school year on a farm with all of the students, our volunteers and some families. Tristen enjoyed hanging out the farm and watching the horses…

There’s just something about girls and horses. I don’t get it, but it’s true.

Ahhh, I love my kids. I’m so proud of them. Over the past two days, I’ve heard them use the following pop culture quotable statements in their every day life:

“Samuel! I need more cowbell!”

- Aida [yelling at her brother to clean up his room faster]

“What is this a center for ANTS!”

-James [seeing a model of a hospital]

And if you’re left scratching your head at any of these statements and their meanings – I am sad for you, but take cheer, there is a remedy.

The weather’s been great around here. The if the sun is out, my kids are outside with it. I can’t wait for summer to get here.

How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

This is proof that advertising works… 

Our family has been watching bowl games for the past two weeks. And at dinner last night, Samuel, my 3 year old, picks up his cup and drinks down all of his water. Then he turns to me and says, “Ahh, drinkability.”

I, then, scolded him (while trying not to laugh), telling him not to repeat slogans from beer commercials. And now “drinkability” has become the underground word of choice amongst the kids. During last night’s Fiesta bowl, there was much whispering and snickering  during commercial breaks amongst the kids. 

Thank you Bud Light. I can’t wait for him to pull out that nugget, next Sunday at church…

The girls bust it out for New Years Eve. Aida and Tristen get their dance on.

The best part is watch for Tristen to figure out there’s a camera. Once that happens it’s all over.
