Today we are hosting our annual YD (Youth Dynamics) fund-raising banquet. It is our major fundraiser for the year that provides for scholarships, ministry support and program costs. It has been a tremendous journey leading up to this event. We’ve really felt God’s hand upon us as we’ve seen the community rally around. My heart is to see people come, enjoy the fellowship and learn more about our ministry. We are praying for financial and prayer partners.

I am asking for your prayers to cover this event and the people involved.

It’s been an amazing journey to put this together, and I’ll be excited to report tomorrow on how it went.

I know this event can have great significance towards reaching youth for the Lord and it will be opposed by the enemy - so lift us up in prayer today!

“A tiny village in Serbia says it will construct a statue of the film character Rocky to ward off decades of bad luck. An official from Zitiste, about 55k (33 miles) north of Belgrade, said the statue of Rocky was needed to give the village a more positive image.  Zitiste has suffered serious damage from floods and landslides, earning it a reputation for being jinxed.  “I felt as if Rocky has come from our village,” said a village local”                                                  [BBC News]

It just goes to show you that we all have a need for a Savior, just most of us go looking in the wrong place. Sorry Rocky.

This is the leg of Barbaro the champion racehorse after a break at the start of the Preakness. I know the horse’s leg will heal, and there shouldn’t be much visible scaring on the outside. But he will always carry the scars on the inside.

I feel like this is my life sometimes, good looking on the outside, but barely held together on the inside. Do you ever feel like this? I feel broken.

I return to the thought that without brokenness, there is no need for healing. The brokenness reminds us of our desperate need for God daily.

The Lord said, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9). There is beauty in our brokenness. There is hope in it as well. Through the pain I remember that I am not alone.
