I read some shocking news on a prominent evangelical blog that was insinuating that to unite the Christian right many churches were coming together in unity to elect their own Pope! This action is in hopes to make one large evangelical “mother church” that can rule as one. So far the United Methodist, Southern Baptist, and Seventh Day Adventists have come together in agreement.  There’s even word of a pact with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Purpose Driven Churches.

So far they’re calling themselves Churches Reuniting Amongst People. And someone close to sources in the organization has commented about a new Christian Pope ”I think someone like Jerry Falwell in a big hat [and robe], driving around would inspire people.” Even Dobson chimed in on his daily broadcast, “I think this could be what we need to mobilize the right.”

Jerry Falwell the new Pope!?! Now, I’m all for unity, but this sounds crazy or some sort of sign of the end times.

This week a man returned a library book that was late. Forty-seven years late!

Robert Nuranen handed the local librarian a book he’d checked out for a ninth-grade assignment — along with a check for 47 years worth of late fees.

“I figured I’d better get it in before we waited another 10 years,” he said after turning it in Friday with the $171.32 check. “Fifty-seven years would be embarrassing.”

Often times we thing that things in life are “too late.” But there are some things that are never too late.

It’s never too late to:

-tell someone you love them

-ask for forgiveness (or to forgive)

-accept Jesus as your Savior (you’ve never done too much or gone too far away for Him)

Can you think of any others?

Now, I know usually when Madonna hears the word Missionary she thinks of her hourly night job… but in a recent article in Australia it seems Madge has gotten into a tangle with some real missionaries who were trying to adopt a baby. As it happens, Madonna now wants the baby.

So why the sudden interest in adopting babies? I don’t know where she finds the time with all of her daily crucifixions and gyrations on stage. She must be a multitasker. If we could only be more like Madonna… then we’d need to take Penicillin on a regular basis.
