The voting for the DCCCBoA (Delony Christmas Card Contest Bonanza of Amazingness) is finally over!
It was a tough one this year. I felt like I was dealing with the BCS committee, but the judges (kids, ages 6-1) thought long and hard and picked a winner (which is highly disputed and controversial in our household). But leave it to the kids to be a sucker for cute animals (hint, hint for next year).
So I give you the 2nd Annual DCCCBoA Winner!
Katherine Kitchens is the winner of this year’s best Christmas card! Well done! A Starbucks gift card will be in the mail soon for you to sip a warm cup of victory.
And for me personally, I give you my vote of the most amazing cowboy Christmas card. I’ve never gotten one quite like this and don’t think I ever will.
Ray Bell, I am amazed and tip my hat to you…
For the rest of you, better luck next year.

Want to make your yuletide brighter this year? How about two free movie rentals from Netflix?
First person to correctly name (specifically) the “pop culture” inspiration behind the decoration of this Christmas tree wins.
It’s just that simple (though the answer isn’t)…
Post your answer in the comment section.
Good luck!
[Note: this is not my Christmas tree]

I won this poncho off of the Musings of A Home Engineer’s blog. Kristina knit this and it is beautiful. Considering it was made for a girl ages 2-4, I decided to give up my prize. It looks much better on Aida. She loves her new poncho.
So thanks Kristina! We love it!

Here it is. There’s only one week left to Christmas. My brilliant wife, Miriam, had a brilliant idea. We’re going to host the (pause for effect) the:
1st Annual Delony Christmas Card Contest Bonanza of Amazingness!
That’s right people. You could be the first winner in history! Something no one in history has ever done first in history.
Here’s how you play.
1) Find a Christmas card.
2) Make sure it’s Awesome.
3) Make sure it doesn’t Suck.
4) Check it again for maximum Awesomeness and for lack of Suckiness.
5) Put it in envelope. Lick envelope. Seal envelope. Stamp envelope. Put envelope in mailbox. Raise the red mail box flag. Wait for postal worker to remove it from mailbox.
6) Wait in eager anticipation till December 31st to see if you’re the glorious, grander prize winner! If you win, you will receive a majestic, amazing prize (or some present that I couldn’t return after Christmas), be featured on this blog, and so much more!*
Send entries to:
1st Annual Delony Christmas Card Contest Bonanza of Amazingness!
c/o the Delony Family
326 S Stillaguamish
Arlington, WA 98223
The prizes will be voted on by a panel of distinguished judges (age ranges 2-5 years old) on December 30th and 7pm PST (better known as bed time).
Enter and win!
*“so much more” is a term subjectively defined by the writer of this blog. The actual prize could be so much less.
Note: There is no actual cash or plane tickets (as seen in picture above) awarded for this contest – simply an idiot’s smile of joy (see above picture) and a mystery box filled with goodness – mailed to you. So don’t quit your day job just yet.

Here is a picture from Joe Martino’s house church in Michigan (or better known as the church of Joe – it’s like Graceland with less shag carpet). I’m in this picture. First person to correctly identify where I am in the picture gets a prize mailed to them.
UPDATE: Calvin won the top prize! Second place went to Erica Martino which means you win and the Indians are in fact better than then Yankees (I used http://www.random.org/ to randomly pick a winner from the other correct guesses!)
Email your mailing addresses to sdelony@yd.org to get your prize!
