Life’s always an adventure. And going to see Rob Bell last night was no exception.

I had three people riding with me to go to the Moore theater in Seattle last night when we had a bit of car trouble on the way down. Well, it’ wasn’t exactly car trouble, we ran out of gas. That was my first inkling that the gas gauge on our ministry van was broken.  We left plenty early and everything was going great. No traffic. Great conversations. It couldn’t get any better till the car lost all power going 70 down the highway.

We pull over, call AAA and they inform us it could take up to 45 min for them to come help us. Rob Bell is slated to go on at 7:30 and it’s about 6:40 at this time. So we wait and wait, watching the clock. We all took turns urinating outside the van in the medium of the highway. It was good bonding time to say the least.

I’m checking my watch and getting more and more frustrated so I decide start to walking towards a gas station. About ten minutes into my hike, I get a call that AAA has arrived. So I run back to the van (it’s 7:30 by this time) and drive frantically to find a gas station. You’d think that was a easy task being so close to Seattle, but it wasn’t. We drive through all these random neighborhoods looking (because there are no gas stations on the outskirts of Seattle). Finally we find one and gas up.

Driving late to the Moore theater, we face the next hurdle: finding parking in Seattle. By the time we park, I’m pretty spent and it’s almost 8pm. We rush into the theater and it looks like they’ve already let the cowds out. So I go over to an attendant and ask her what’s going on. She informs me that they printed the start time on the tickets wrong and that Rob is really slated to start at 8pm.

You have no idea the mix of relief, joy and amazement that washed over me. So we go looking for our tickets and they’re on the front row. Again, amazing. And as soon as we sit down the music plans and Rob enters. I couldn’t have scripted this any better. God was so good to us.

All I can say about “The God’s Aren’t Angry” tours is that I great time. I really enjoyed myself. Rob has an an amazing ability to connect things that are already know and bring them together into a whole new perspective. The bulk of the lecture was about how God enjoys revolutionizing our perspective of reality.  I won’t say much more because a few of you who have tickets have asked me to to spoil it. My only advice: don’t take notes. Don’t even try. Rob talks too fast, covers too much ground (in 1.5 hours) and you’re better suited just enjoying it and soaking it in. I’ll be processing it for the next couple of days. I had a great time and just love Rob Bell’s heart and passion.

My opinion: it’s well worth your time and money (and a raping by tickemaster).

I’ve got tickets for Rob Bell’s “The God’s Aren’t Angry” Tour. It hits Seattle this Sunday and I’m pretty pumped. I’ll tell you guys Monday how it goes. I’m also excited that all profits from the tickets are going towards the Turame Microfinance Project to help third world countries. What I’m not so excited about is Ticketmaster - they tacked on ten more bucks in fees. After dealing with Ticketmaster, I feel like I took a shower in prison.

I was on Mud Puppy’s blog and found Rob’s newest Nooma video on myspace. Go check it out (long with the others - Rain and Breathe are my favorites).  The NOOMA videos are truly an amazing series.

Well the Remedy tour was AWESOME! Miriam, Tristen and I ended up getting there late (because that’s what happens when you roll with babies), but it worked out. We missed one of the opening bands. During the intermission, we made our way down front and got amazing seats. We were literally 20 feet from Crowder. I could have braided his goatee.

Tristen couldn’t have been better. We popped ear plugs in her ears and Miriam bounced her to the beat of the songs. She loved it.
What makes Crowder absolutely fantastic is the fact that he actually sounds better live. Check out the dates for the Remedy Tour and get tickets for when DCB hits your town (and they’re under 30 bucks!).

I’ve got my tickets and Miriam, Tristen and I are ready to go. 5pm tonight Remedy hits the rainy city. I’m excited, I’m jazzed. I had to buy Tristen a ticket because the Moore theater doesn’t allow babies! Nevertheless I am pumped and ready. Expect pics tomorrow!

Baby’s first concert? Crowder all the way. That’s a pretty good first.

Yes, I said it. Walter Kelley is evil and he controls the weather with his evil eyebrows!

I noticed it a while back, but didn’t give it much thought. Each week Miriam and I watch 24 and then promptly afterwards the local news comes on. First off, Seattle is a lame city for news. Not much crime happens, so they actually give local crime reports for other cities. We’re just too clean and nice of a city. But that’s besides the point.

My point:

The weather man, Walter Kelley, for Q13 (the Fox affiliate) is pure evil.

I’ve been watching closely. He looks innocent enough, like a young Hasslehoff but less bronze. Upon closer look, his eyebrows are possessed and control him along with the weather in Seattle. I think he may be the Antichrist. See how they point upward like horns… evil! He seems to delight in bad weather as his eyebrows bounce in delight as he reports it… evil! He frequently does segments with cute animals to distract his truly sinister plans of world domination through meteorological malevolence … evil! He also has a birthmark in the shape of an upside down cross to which he says is “groovy”… evil!

So to all of you who reside in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, watch 24, and love Jesus (yes all 5 of you!)… please turn off the TV as soon as the 24 ends. Skip the “scenes from next week’s episode of 24” it’s a ploy to lure you into his evil relm of the Q13 news! Be careful. Stay awake, stay alive! I am praying for your souls.

I’ve tried to find video for you to sample and all I can find is this short clip - which is only moderately evil. It seems all footage and info on this man have been destroyed in some sort of vast Satanic Mormon conspiracy.
