“One thing I have come to embrace is this: we have to let it go.  The more comfortable we are with mystery in our journey, the more rest we will know along the way.  The Christian life is full of paradox (as if you hadn’t noticed).  Listen to how Paul describes his experience of the quest: ‘Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing, poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything’ (2 Cor. 6:10 NIV) How true is this.  If we will remain open to sorrow, we can know joy.  Somehow being empty allows us to make others rich.  And if we are willing to let go; we’ll discover something most suprising—-that all is ours.  That is why reaching to possess is one danger of which the heart alive must be wary.  Those who have given up caring aren’t tempted by this.  But once we know what we want, we must learn the grace of release”.

Tomorrow will be an adventure. Blizzard blew in and blocked us from leaving. God had other plans - evidently we needed another day. And this day has been refreshing, laid back and full of movies. Last of the Mohicans stirs something so deep within me. Rugged adventure, beauty to be fought for, odds against you. I actually love that - the odds being against me. I love that moment when only God believes in you. Damn the world with its cynicism. It has forgotten how to dream. Everything has become “0’s” and “1’s”. Nothing is about beauty anymore. Adventure is lost. But is it? Underneath it all the war rages on, beauty is assaulted, and the adventure is yours to behold. Do you want it?

I’m like Zacchaeus in a tree going higher to see my Lord and king. Only it isn’t a sycamore, it’ more like some scraggly pine. Either way it holds my weight about 30 ft off the ground. I sit here in Colorado on a mountain top watching the sun rise. Slowly at first - but oh what a release of light. I am surrounded in the joy of the creator, the sound of creation beaming before me. Oh what a dreamer the God I serve is. A master painter. An artist in light. Oh praise him. He is holy, mighty, and has a beautiful imagination.
