Support Two Students Golfing for a Good Cause

Champs Support Two Students Golfing for a Good Cause

August 25th is our annual Youth Dynamics Golf Marathon. This is one of our major fund raising events for the YD ministry and staff. Typically we have golfers who are business men in the community. This year, the unexpected happened – I had a student ask if he could golf for Arlington YD. So I have a 15 year old student who is going to go and get pledges (the goal is $2500) and golf 100 holes. He’s enlisted me and his brother to help him – but this is no small task. But he believes so much in this ministry that he’s stepped up.

So here’s my request to you. Support these students in their efforts to do something amazing.

All donations are tax deductible. And remember you’re not just supporting a golfer or a ministry. You’re making sure the gospel is spread to teens in one of the most non-churched areas in the United States. The money Valeriy raises will go directly towards supporting the ministry here in Arlington. So, please consider sponsoring these two young men in their efforts.

Here’s a testimony of some of the kids who have been impacted through the ministry here at Arlington YD.

In interviewed some of our students about their experiences with our ministry here at Arlington Youth Dynamics.  Here’s the video I put together for our banquet. Youtube dropped a bit of the quality, but you’ll get the idea…

Youth Dynamics

There’s many that read my blog, but don’t really know much about the ministry I work for (or what exactly I do).

I work for a ministry based out of the Northwest called Youth Dynamics (or YD). I serve as director over the Arlington (Washington) community. It is our vision to see Northwest youth transformed by the power of Christ, integrated into the local church and impacting their world for Him. We are about reaching today’s youth through dynamic relationships and challenging experiences.

Simply put: we journey with kids and to show them the love of Christ.

For more about Youth Dynamics visit our website www.yd.org

The Bravest Person I Know

Posted by stuartdelony at 3rd October, 2007

IMGP4452 The Bravest Person I Know

Or at least one of the bravest people I know. I just like having very important sounding titles…. Jessica Maher is a new staff member in the offices of Arlington Youth Dynamics. At YD, we’re support based missionaries – which basically means we have to raise our own funding/money to work in our community.

We hired Jessica from Orange County California and it’s been amazing to see her begin to work with students. We haven’t had any female staff here for about 2 years and it’s such a vital ministry. In the short time she’s been here I’ve seen girls come alive. It’s an amazing sight to see.

Here’s why she’s the bravest person I know: Jessica moved up here on faith. She was only at 50% support (i.e. salary and ministry expenses) when she decided to leave the O.C. She’s been up here for a month and is about at 60%. I can’t imagine how scary it has to be  as a single girl to move away from everything you know and go to an unknown place with out the guarantee of funding. Her faith is amazing. She’s such a brave courageous young woman. Keep her journey in your prayers.

If any of you want to support an amazing female missionary doing vital work in one of the most unchurched regions of the country. Click here to support Jessica.

Follow her journey on her blog.
