“If Picard and MacGyver teamed up, they could defeat any evil in the world.”

- Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office)

True. That’s so true. If only this could happen.

During the Youth Specialties Core Conference last weekend, the speaker referenced Milli Vanilli and our students were clueless as to who this mysterious group was. They didn’t know the music. They didn’t know Rob and Fab, their sweet dance moves,  or one of music’s greatest hoaxes.  So when we took some youth out this week, I decided it was time to introduce them to the amazing 80’s fake cheese known as Milli Vanilli. Sadly, the were unimpressed. Guess you had to be there [in the 80's] to appreciate it.

But don’t let that stop you from enjoying it…

Here’s your mid-week pick-me-up. Enjoy the cheese. Velveeta this thick will tide you over till the weekend.

In the history of bad ideas, this is not the worst one, but it may be close…

A new Knight Rider? How can you replace the Hoff? Aren’t there any new (and good) ideas out there? I’m just waiting now for the updated version of Manimal or Automan. We can only hope.

So any other bad 80’s shows that shouldn’t be remade?

Hanging out on Christmas vacation with my kids I’ve learned many things. I’ve learned a new (to me) slang term that I’ve begun to use and so should you.

Stink Eye (n) - a facial expression of doubt, distrust, or dislike; a dirty look; skunk eye, the hairy eyeball. “When that dude cut me off I gave him total stink eye.” [Doubletongued.org]

“Stink eye” should not be confused by Stinkor; an action figure from the 80’s. I owned him as a kid. He was simply amazing.

“Stinkor was first introduced in 1985 as an action figure from the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toyline and came packaged with a mini-comic titled The Stench of Evil. The Stinkor action figure had a semi-foul scent, giving it the distinction of being one of the few toys whose “action feature” is an odor. “[Wikipedia]
